1 Day Surabaya Heroes Track (Full)

Surabaya, also known as the “City of Heroes,” has a lot of historical buildings like museums and the birthplaces of national heroes and figures of Indonesia. We invite you to visit these historical destinations in Surabaya on the Surabaya Heroes Track Tour with INFINITE VACATION.

Our team will pick you up at the predetermined meeting point, and the first part of the journey begins towards the DR. SOETOMO MUSEUM, a museum that houses personal belongings of one of the founders of the Budi Oetomo Organization, Dr. Soetomo. Inside the museum, you can find more than 300 of his collections, including medical tools and historical photographs. This place is also known as the Indonesian National Building (Gedung Nasional Indonesia), initially used as a meeting place to strategize and plan for Indonesia’s independence.

The journey continued with a visit to the H.O.S. TJOKROAMINOTO MUSEUM, which used to be the residence of H.O.S. Tjokroaminoto and his family. This house, belonging to one of the leaders of the first organization in Indonesia, Sarekat Islam in 1912 was also silently witnessed the nation’s struggle against colonialism and the birth of a Indonesia national figure. Even the first President of Indonesia, Ir. H. Soekarno, once stayed here.

After that, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Then, we’ll head to our next destination, which is the BIRTHPLACE OF BUNG KARNO, the proclaimer of Indonesia independence and the first president of Indonesia. At this house, you can learn about the past of the figure “Koesno”, the child hood name of Soekarno and other collections of his family’s journey in the form of video mapping and Augmented Reality technology.

It’s time to visit our last destination, which is the W.R. SOEPRATMAN MUSEUM, the former residence of one of Indonesia’s national heroes. This museum showcases the life history of the creator of the Indonesian national anthem, Wage Rudolf (W.R.) Soepratman. The most iconic thing about this museum is the statue of him playing the violin in front of it.
